Setting the time zone

In general digital photos do not record the time zone and therefore you need to specify the time zone before you can geotag your photos.

  1. Visit the National Institute of Standards and Technology [nist.time.gov] to compare the time on your camera with the GMT offset given for different time zones.
  2. Choose the number of hours (or in rare cases minutes) your camera's time zone differs from GMT.
  3. Proposed geotagging locations will be updated instantly for any selected photos.

The time zone adjustment is not used to correct inaccurate time stamps on photos. Please see:
